About the Event

Join us for an enchanting evening at Liberty Park as Maestro Eduardo Cedeño and the Lake Norman Philharmonic take center stage in a mesmerizing open-air concert!   Let the lush melodies sweep you away as the orchestra brings classical and contemporary masterpieces to life, surrounded by the natural beauty of Liberty Park.   As the sun sets, it will create a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable symphonic experience.  Admission is free!  Food trucks and drink vendors will be ready to serve at 6:30 p.m.

Conducted by  Maestro Eduardo Cedeño, the Lake Norman Philharmonic will feature special classical and contemporary selections at this concert.  We’re most excited to welcome internationally known, award-winning conductor, pianist, composer Maestro Claudio Di Meo from London, as he conducts the first portion of the program, including his composition The Mission-Gabriel’s Oboe, along with Carmen Suite 1 & 2 (Morricone) and other selections.

Maestro Cedeño and the orchestra are preparing a lively second half of the concert with more contemporary music selections, including pieces from Disney Film Favorites (Vinson), Star Wars Through the Years (Williams),  and Salute to Rodgers and Hammerstein (Rodgers) among other exciting tunes. Highlights of the concert will be soloist Luigi Malaguez, performing Cello Suite No. 1 in G, and we’re excited to introduce Soprano Brittany Griffin who will be performing O Mio Babbino Caro (Puccini) and selections from the Sound of Music (Rodgers and Hammerstein).   This free, family-friendly event will be sure to delight all ages!  So, bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the evening with us.

"We are happy to welcome and showcase Maestro Di Meo and the soloists, who along with the orchestra, have worked very hard to bring the best of their talent and favorite music to the community," says  Maestro Cedeño.  "We're so pleased to entertain in this unique venue and continue the Lake Norman Philharmonic's season with a great performance for our friends, families, and the community."

This project was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources,  and the Town of Mooresville Parks & Recreation Dept.
