About the Event
Join us as Maestro Eduardo Cedeño and the Lake Norman Philharmonic perform for you at Liberty Park in Mooresville! This free, family-friendly concert will be sure to delight you, so bring your friends and families for an afternoon of exciting entertainment for this special day!
Prepare to be swept away by the talent and passion of our musicians as they perform timeless classics and modern masterpieces. Whether you're a longtime lover of orchestral music or simply looking for a magical afternoon out, this event promises something for everyone.
We know you'll enjoy special solos by two of our very own orchestra members. Timothy Smith will perform Concerto for French Horn, 1st Movement by Wagner. TJ has been playing the French Horn for more than 10 years. He attended Brigham Young University for French Horn performance and has performed in venues across the US and in Europe. He and his wife Sara, also a French Horn player, perform in the LKN PHIL and together in local music groups wherever possible. TJ and his wife have two children and incorporate music into their family life whenever possible.
Later in the program, vocalist Meredith Whitlow will perform O Mio Babbino Caro by Puccini. Meredith Whitlow is a lifelong musician with a background in all things musical from church musician to the opera stage, instrumentalist to vocalist, and performer to director. A classically trained singer (UNC- Greensboro) and a Master's level board-certified Music Therapist (Queens University of Charlotte, Colorado State University), Meredith is the founder and owner of Rejoice Music Therapy, LLC based here in Mooresville, NC which serves clients across the state. She credits her classical training, opera work, church musician roles, and even her marching band days with preparing her well to deliver her musical best in volunteer and professional roles.
Guests may bring chairs and blankets to enjoy this outdoor event. Admission is free, but donations are warmly appreciated to support the Lake Norman Philharmonic and its mission of bringing exceptional music to our community. See you there!
